I have linked a video below which follows Megan Bogaard, a labor and delivery nurse at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in Houston, through a day in her life at work. According to Megan, labor and delivery nurses prepare for and help mothers through the birthing process. They also guide mothers and their newborn babies through recovery for 1-3 days after giving birth. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals have seen a large influx of births. Labor and delivery units across the country have been quite busy.

Though this video is less informational and more focused on the emotional aspect of this specialty, Megan’s passion for labor and delivery nursing is quite moving and worth watching. You can watch the video here to hear more about Megan’s life as a nurse and why she loves her profession.
